Message My experience with my daily driver has been different. I purchased my 92 NA in 92 with 4500 mi from a Nissan exec., now have about 78000. The check engine light has never come on. I check ECU often for codes-always 55 and O2's check out as well. Original: ice cold AC, alternator, power steering pump and hoses, electric windows, rear end, engine. No valve ticks ever. Car still a good performer. When home for the day in garage the hood goes up to get the heat out to increase the life on rubber and other parts. No leaks to date.

However have replaced: clutch slave cylindere, TPS, tranny isolater mount, DS center bearing, left tension rod, alternator bearings, 5 speed tranny (powertrain warranty replace in 1996-faulty synchros), timing belt tensioner (in 3/1997 after 3 yr-36k warranty over (bummer) & part not under the power train warranty) and while at it Nissan did the timing belt, other drive belts and the water pump (as good will under warranty though not faulty). Had the Bose head unit fixed.

I do all maint and repairs. Regular fluid changes of: 10w-30 oil(3k or 3months), coolant (each 1.5 years 1 gal. AF + Redline water wetter), tranny and rear end oil (every 2 years), fluid for power steering (about each 18 mos.), brakes and clutch (DOT 3 each 2 years). Many connectors cleaned and filled with dilectric grease. Have added a ground net system.

Do have the reak clunk syndrom and have the ES diffy bushings that will be done.

Of course the usual: tires (at about each 20k), brake pads (about to do 2nd set), air filters at 30k, spark plugs at 60k, drive belts at 5 years.

Actually it has been relatively trouble free.
